Rogers has played an invaluable role as a strong and devoted ally in driving education reform initiatives in Georgia," said Tim Melton, the Vice-President of Students First.

"This is an incredible honor to be recognized as the 'Reformer of the Year' by such a prestigious organization," said Senator Chip Rogers. "We have shown that committing our efforts to the best interests of the individual student can truly make a difference. There is no reason why Georgia cannot be the national leader in educational achievement. Through the efforts of reform-minded legislators and Students First, we can make it become reality."

Students First is America's premier education reform organization with a mission to build a national movement to defend the interests of children in public education and pursue transformative reform, so that America has the best education system in the world. Led by former Washington D.C. School Chancellor, Michelle Rhee, Students First has grown to over 1 million members in less than two years.

Also on Wednesday national education reform leader, and former Florida Governor, Jeb Bush officially endorsed Senator Chip Rogers.

"I have worked with Senator Chip Rogers to improve the quality of education for Georgia's students. From expanding educational choice to more parents and students to bringing digital learning into America's classrooms, Senator Rogers has been a state and national leader for real education reform. His efforts to bring personalized, market-based, education reforms to Georgia will help more students achieve their God-given potential." Finally, Senator Rogers announced the official endorsement of Georgia's State School Superintendent, Dr. John Barge.

"Senator Rogers is a true conservative leader, committed to education reform. Our paths to reform may sometimes differ, but our goal is the same; giving Georgia's students a chance for a world-class education. I offer my full support for Senator Rogers and look forward to continuing our work together making Georgia the best state in America for k-12 education" Dr. John Barge, Georgia School Superintendent

"Accepting the status quo in education is simply unacceptable. We need true, market-based, reform that recognizes the absolute necessity of individualized education," said Senator Rogers. "Governor Bush and Dr. Barge understand this and are dedicated to making it happen. I am honored to join them in this monumental effort and receive their endorsements."

Senator Rogers has now earned local, state and national recognition for his work in education reform. He currently serves as Georgia Senate Majority Leader and on the Senate Education Committee.
